I am attempting to attend the Metanoia series at church — it’s a 10 week program. At least I attended Week 1 Video 1. (Here’s hoping mom life lets me do the rest!)
Metanoia is Greek for “Conversion”. This is a series with Fr. Dave Pivonka and The Ministry of the Wild Goose. Here was my “one best thought” from the video + group discussion time.
Week 1: Who do you say that I am?
In the video Amber VanVickle talks about God as Santa Claus and I think that the world wants a God that is Santa Claus.
The world wants God to give them the good at all times; no suffering. They want a God that is for them but with a worldly focus and meaning. Rather than a God that’s for them in a way to draw them closer to Himself.

God loves you and calls you to change. Yes, He will meet you where you are and He can work with any little bit that you give Him. But He calls you His and you are called to be His — you have to put in the work to have a truer understanding of who God really is rather than allow your misconceptions to blind you.
