I had a dream of America
A land of opportunity
Of new beginnings
Of beauty and riches
Of futures built
By hard work and helping hands

I had a dream of America
A vision of freedom
Of equality
Of liberty
Of justice
Not just for some, but for all

I had a dream of America
A nation of prosperity
Of democracy
Of a government
Of, by, and for the people

I had a dream of America
A people of diversity
Of ideals
Of endurance
Of a united
United States of America

I awoke from my dream
And what did I find,
America?
