Over the last few months I know I haven’t posted much – sometimes I was blessed with insights but only journaled in my prayer journal rather than writing a post –though often times I just felt dry to insights and reflection. Today I had such a “long shot” connection that I at least wanted to throw it out there – especially since when reading Luke 4: 16-30 this part is likely to be skipped right through:
In Luke 4: 23 we read “They also asked, is this not the son of Joseph?”He said to them, “Surely you will quote me this proverb, ‘Physcian, cure yourself‘.”
It reminded me of this:
“Those passing by reviled him, shaking their heads and saying, ‘You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, if you are the Son of God, [and] come down from the cross!” -Mt 27: 39-40
“Likewise the chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him and said, “He saved others; he cannot save himself.” – Mt 27: 41-42
It then inspired me to try to look up the Proverb – of which I could only locate this potentially helpful source: http://www.thehiddenmanna.org/physician-heal-thyself/
