Kerygma Pittsburgh

2020 Update:

These events are no longer taking place. However, you can still find Fr. Joe inspiring the Catholic community all around Pittsburgh and if you aren’t yet listening please listen to Dave’s podcast Every Knee Shall Bow. Dave still tours the country giving talks – check out what he’s up to at thesinnersguide.com.

NOW OUTDATED but leaving it here… (Previously) Updated Post:

“AWAKEN” events have been inspiring and moving and such great events to grow in community. And I’m not just saying that because I’m trying to get you to church. I’m saying it because I believe that you need to experience Fr. Joe and Dave’s ability to stir up the Holy Spirit within your heart and within your life.  Become inspired to become the person Jesus wants you to be!

If you want to schedule an Awaken event at your parish please contact kerygmapittsburgh[at]gmail. com. To just learn more about these events visit www.kerygmapittsburgh.com or find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/awakenpittsburgh/

If you haven’t joined us yet please do! I’ll be there and I look forward to meeting you! 🙂

Original Post from April 2016:

Just over one year into my intentional journey of saying “Yes” to God I have been led to an opportunity to help Dave VanVickle and Fr. Joe Freedy with their ministry and mission.

To back up for a minute… In January 2015 I got a role change at work from IT Project Manager to Digital Advertising Specialist. It took a lot of adjusting to and in many ways I am still adjusting. But a few months into it when I wanted to quit (and just spend time with Nora instead) God told me to hang in there because He was going to use this in some way. I stopped worrying and fretting (or so I’d like to believe) and just continued on my professional journey learning many many things.

And so in April 2016 God is letting my acceptance and patience bear some fruit – I am helping Kergyma Pittsburgh with their Marketing – especially with their “Awaken” events. I’m not sure what all that entails quite yet, but I know that God has grown those skills in me over the last 1.5 years and so I am ready to dive in and help.

The first thing on the inspiration “list” was to make a painting. It is 2 feet x 4 feet. I had a few thoughts about how I’d like it to look, but God took over the paintbrush on this one as He led my hands to make this:
