I wrote a Bluegrass-Gospel song – like many bluegrassy, gospelly songs you really need to hear this sung with all its high lonesome notes in order to really feel the words. I originally said that I was only sharing the visual taste of this music, but I am going on in faith and sharing my audio recording of this. Perhaps someday I’ll have Ryan write some music to go along with this.
I’m just stranger traveling thru this world below.
I’m just a stranger looking for the narrow road.
Where I am traveling all the earth, all the earth is overgrown.
I feel like I’m planting, planting seeds that won’t be sown.
Lord, help me through my darkest travels.
Lord, help me find the narrow road.
Lord, help me through the weeds and brambles.
I travel on in faith I go.
I’m just stranger traveling thru this world below.
I’m just a stranger looking for the narrow road.
Lord, help me through my darkest travels.
Lord, help me find the narrow road.
Lord, help me through the weeds and brambles.
I travel on in faith I go.
The path is narrow still I’m searching, searching for the narrow gate.
I shed my fears, pains and sorrows, my hardened heart, hurt and hate.
I’m walking onwards heading towards my rightful home.
I’m heading onwards Lord I’m coming, coming home.
Do you see me? Oh I’m coming. ‘Least I’m trying to find the way.
Do you see me? Lord I’m coming. Carry me home out of this place.
I’m just stranger traveling thru this world below.
I’m just a stranger looking for the narrow road.
Lord, help me through my darkest travels.
Lord, help me find the narrow road.
Lord, help me through the weeds and brambles.
I travel on in faith I go.
Inspired by Matthew 7: 13-14 –The Narrow Gate. 13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
[Visual interest here is lacking… but that’s the only way I could sing this for you.]
