Write the Poem: Nighttime

Ironically I wrote this while I couldn’t sleep… but I got so worked up by all the negative word associations (see image) that I couldn’t not write a positive poem!

The moon and sleep are one and same
Both full inside my windowpane
A restful head sleeps in the night
The man keeps watch with face alight
No shadows creep, no black disturbs
The mind bounces in dreams not words
The moon holds vigil in skies aloft
While eyes shut tight on pillow soft
